Immigration Rights and Advocacy

Our Promise

At ISANA, we are dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all our students and the broader community. On February 5, 2017, our Board of Directors passed a resolution designating our schools as safe zones, and they reaffirmed this commitment on December 13, 2024. ISANA Academies are open and welcoming to all students, regardless of their immigration status. The resolution adopted by ISANA confirms the following:

      • ISANA will not discuss or disclose a stakeholder’s immigration status with a law enforcement officer, including ICE.

      • ISANA will not assist a law enforcement officer with inquiries related to immigration status or immigration matters related to students, staff, or families.

      • ISANA will not share any student information with a law enforcement officer, including, but not limited to, student addresses, country of origin, English learner status, social security numbers, passport copies, etc.

      • ISANA will not grant a law enforcement officer permission to access school grounds for the purpose of engaging in immigration-related investigation or enforcement.

      • ISANA will notify the family if a law enforcement officer requests access to a student or student records for immigration-related investigation or enforcement.

    • ISANA prohibits any form of unlawful discrimination, intimidation, or harassment.  All students are welcome at ISANA and will continue to have equal access to a safe school environment regardless of their immigration status.

ISANA cannot offer legal advice. We are committed to providing resources that connect individuals with legal and advocacy services. We encourage everyone to review these resources and discuss them with their families.
